A GAME-CHANGING COSMIC WAVE:

This week, two of the transpersonal planets—Uranus, the planet of Higher Consciousness, and Sedna, the planet of Spiritual Destiny—align in Gemini. Although these two planets rendezvous about every 90 years, this is the first time in roughly 11,000 years that they have aligned in the sign of the Twins.

With this Uranus-Sedna conjunction, a cosmic wave of high-vibrational energies is flooding the areas of human experience that are associated with Gemini: our individual consciousness; how we receive, process, and share information; and left-brain activities such as logic, language, and analytical thinking. We may already be sensing the effects of this planetary collaboration, perhaps as lightheadedness, an inability to process complex information, or problems communicating linearly.

Astrologer Alan Clay, who has researched Sedna and the other dwarf planets in great depth, shares these insights about the Uranus-Sedna alignment:

"I predict that we are heading for a consciousness explosion, as the planet of networked ideas, Uranus, meets the planet of spiritual destiny, Sedna, in Gemini, the sign of personal consciousness. There is a huge soul growth potential with this transit, because Sedna represents what our soul really wants to do in this life.

"Sedna talks about how our holistic spiritual consciousness, or soul consciousness, is developing. Transiting Uranus brings new energy, surprises and adventure into our lives when we are open to it—and upsets and unsettling experiences when we are not. Sedna's always trying to get us onto the spiritual path; if we are unconscious of her energy, she sends us crises that force us to let go of our old consciousness framework and transcend to a new understanding of ourselves and the world we live in."

AWAKENING THE FEMININE VOICE:

The legend of Sedna, the Inuit Goddess of the Seas, initially takes us on a journey of self-denial, deception, and betrayal, but ultimately leads us to spiritual metamorphosis and empowerment. These positive manifestations occur only after a crisis point is reached, when the patriarchal powers appear to have won. But it is when all appears lost that the Inuit maiden Sedna finally releases her attachment to the traumas and the story that once defined her, and trusts spirit to guide her to a higher destiny.

Uranus, the Great Awakener, is a force of liberation, revolution, enlightenment, and inspiration. When activated, it initiates life-changing events that can feel either like a breakthrough or like a breakdown, depending on our ability to embrace necessary change.

With the Uranus-Sedna alignment occurring in Gemini, the two planets are assisting us in breaking free from limiting mindsets, in learning to speak our truth, and in giving birth to the spiritually empowered feminine voice. Surprising insights, unexpected events, or sudden awakenings are possible. This is a powerful time of transformation, one that will help us conceptualize and also align with our soul's highest purposes.

We can expect to feel the greatest impact of the Uranus-Sedna alignment this week and next, but its effects will be quite strong throughout the time that the two planets are within one degree of each other, from May 1 to June 15.

NERVOUS SYSTEM SUPPORT:

Gemini rules the nervous system, so we will want to be especially mindful of our physical and mental health as we navigate the energies of the Uranus-Sedna alignment. Some may feel unexplained anxiety during this time, which could affect their ability to think clearly and result in heightened sensitivity, especially to loud noises. The digestion and other systems of the body might also be impacted.

In general, any techniques that ease the mind, soothe the nerves, and help manage stress are recommended as we work with Uranus and Sedna in Gemini. Meditation and mindfulness are at the top of the list, as well as gentle exercise, walking in nature, and any activities that help us feel grounded and connected to the Earth.

During this time, do your best to eat whole foods, avoid high amounts of caffeine, sugar, or alcohol, and prioritize restful sleep. We might also choose to take supplements to support the nervous system: B vitamins; minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium; and adaptogens such as ashwaghanda, rhodiola, or bacopa.

DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (May 18 to 24, 2026):

Monday

Mars enters Taurus: While Mars is in the sign of the Bull, from May 18 to June 28, we may feel more grounded, more patient, and less reactive. We tend to be more concerned about creating stability than in initiating something new. Since Taurus prefers that which is familiar, people could be less inclined to take risks and could be stubbornly resistant to change, at least until they have had time to get used to the idea.

Venus enters Cancer: Venus will journey through Cancer from May 18 to June 13 this year. During these weeks, people tend to be protective of loved ones and empathetic to others' needs and moods. We could feel quite sentimental about family or past loves. Some may approach relationships with caution, due to feeling extra vulnerable, and easily become defensive when challenged.

Mercury sextile Neptune: Intuition and the imagination serve us well today.

Venus sextile Mars: This aspect supports kind interactions and helps stabilize relationships. We could find it easy to collaborate on projects.

Tuesday

Mercury square nodes: Getting too caught up in the facts or the details might prevent us from seeing the bigger picture. Logic and reason could interfere with intuitive knowing.

Mercury trine Pluto: The mind is insightful and eager to investigate. Secrets may be shared or uncovered.

Wednesday

Mercury sextile Pallas Athena and semisquare Jupiter: The mind is active and insightful, and people are eager to express their ideas. However, some could tend to exaggerate and information overload is possible.

Sun enters Gemini: The Sun is in the sign of the Twins from May 20 to June 21 this year. During this solar month, we are motivated by a need to connect with others and to share ideas. People are curious and eager for information, but can also be overly invested in facts and figures. Too much mental activity or too much news can lead to burnout.

Thursday

Venus square Neptune: We may not see another person, a relationship, or financial matters clearly today. There is a tendency to idealize and be more subjective than objective in these areas.

Friday

Mercury semisquare Eris and sextile Saturn: People could be confrontational at times today, and may become quickly irritated if they do not feel they are being heard. We can overcome these tendencies by making sure that our words are aligned with our highest integrity before speaking.

Sun conjunct Uranus, Sun conjunct Sedna: The Sun activates the Uranus-Sedna alignment today. Revelations challenge us to see reality in new ways. Unexpected developments may occur that lead to significant, longer-term changes.

Venus trine North Node: The desire for harmony and to see the best in others assists in cooperative activities today.

Saturday

Venus quincunx Pluto: We may reassess a personal relationship or a purchase, based on a sense that something has not been revealed. Some may feel suspicious or jealous under this influence.

Mercury semisquare Chiron: Conversations could be uncomfortable today, as old issues and hurt feelings are triggered.

Sunday

Uranus conjunct Sedna: Surprising insights, unexpected news, or sudden awakenings are possible as these two transpersonal planets align in Gemini.

Sun sextile Neptune: Intuition guides our thoughts and our interactions today. This could be a good day for creative writing, as the imagination is easily accessed and expressed.

Mars trine North Node: This aspect helps us take action in accordance with our spiritual goals. Compassion inspires us to be of service to others in practical ways.

If Your Birthday Is This Week (May 18 to 24, 2026):

This is a highly energized and potentially transformative year for you, with great opportunities for advancements materially, intellectually, and spiritually. Allow yourself to experiment with various options before settling on a single course of action. At the same time, be careful not to take on too much; your nervous system could become over-stimulated, causing feelings of overwhelm and a tendency to disperse your energies too widely. Once you sense a right direction, great determination and focus will help you to achieve your goals.
