Overview: April 27 to May 3, 2026

SCORPIO FULL MOON:

A Full Moon highlights the cosmic landscape this coming week, occurring at 10:22 a.m. PDT on Friday, May 1. At that time, the Moon will be located at 11°20' Scorpio, opposite the Sun at the same degree of Taurus.

Full Moons are always times of heightened emotions; with this lunation in intense, watery Scorpio and also square passionate Pluto, feelings run very deep and might erupt dramatically. Since Scorpio seeks to uncover what lies beneath the surface and Pluto is known as the Great Revealer, what has been held in secret could be exposed by the bright light of this Full Moon.

A challenging T-square is formed at this lunation—to visualize this configuration, imagine the Taurus Sun and the Scorpio Moon at the ends of the cross-bar atop the letter "T," with Pluto in Aquarius at the base of the stem. A T-square in fixed signs tests the ways in which we have become too inflexible, too willful, or too attached to the status quo. It requires us to develop greater detachment, objectivity, and adaptability.

People can be quite determined, demanding, and stubborn under this fixed T-square influence. A battle of wills is likely, with attempts to control the situation and manipulate or control or coerce others.

Thankfully, we have the support of a harmonious trine between the Moon and Jupiter in Cancer for this Friday's Full Moon. This aspect enhances intuition and increases empathy. It is also an optimistic influence, helping us have hope and faith even as we navigate darker times.

THE PLUTO EFFECT:

The effects of any aspects involving Pluto are amplified right now, due to the dwarf planet being at a standstill. Pluto will station retrograde at 05°30' Aquarius on May 6, but will be at that exact degree and minute for two full weeks, from April 30 to May 13.

As the planet of Death and Rebirth, Pluto's influence often corresponds with important endings and beginnings. Those who have natal planets or points at 4 to 7 degrees of a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius) are likely to feel the planet's transformational influence most directly at this time.

Pluto is aligned with the fixed star Alpha Microscopii throughout this period, and thus is channeling its energies to us on planet Earth. This star is known for its obsession with truth, as well as its ability to sort through minute details. Astrologer Roderick Kidston, whose research into the meanings of the fixed stars is eloquently outlined in his book The Magic of the Stars, writes this about Alpha Microscopii:

"Here is the ability to delve deep into the detail, to work with a mass of material and make sense of it. With this fixed star, you probe deeply, organize information and tell stories, all based on what you have found. At best, you don't just change your own viewpoint with this star, but help other people to see and think in a new way, too."

MERCURY AND CHIRON/ERIS:

As it travels through the final degrees of Aries this week, Mercury could uncover hidden motives and agendas. The Messenger Planet will conjoin controversy-stirring Eris on Thursday, and then conjoin wound-exposing Chiron on Friday.

Mercury will be activating the lingering effects of the Chiron-Eris alignment that perfected in March; thus, we may become aware of additional layers of truth regarding issues that have been brushed aside or purposefully concealed. And, it is likely that next week's Mercury-Pluto square—which perfects on May 5, the day before Pluto stations retrograde—will also play an important role in a process of disclosure.

DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (April 27 to May 3, 2026):

Monday

Sun sextile North Node: This aspect encourages us to find a grounded approach to our spirituality. We may want to utilize this energy by spending time in nature and consciously connecting with the plant and animal kingdoms, listening to soul-stirring music, or feeling gratitude for the many gifts of incarnating into a physical reality.

Tuesday

Venus trine Pluto: Connecting deeply with a loved one is supported by this aspect. Conversations could be very revealing. Being honest about our true needs and perspectives can deepen intimacy.

Wednesday

Mars semisquare Uranus: This is a restless influence, which might inspire some to take uninformed risks or act impulsively. Unexpected news may require a change in schedule.

Venus square nodal axis: A need for mental stimulation and variety could interfere with our ability to follow our soul's guidance.

Thursday

Mercury conjunct Eris: We can tend to speak more assertively today, which could trigger controversies and disagreements. Some may courageously advocate for themselves or for those whose needs and rights have been ignored.

Friday

Full Moon: The peak of the current lunar cycle arrives at 10:22 a.m. PDT today. At that time, the Moon is at 11°20' Scorpio and opposes the Sun at the same degree of Taurus.

Venus sextile Saturn: This aspect can help us see our relationships or finances in a more realistic light, enabling us to make more mature decisions in these areas.

Mercury conjunct Chiron: Our minds may dwell on situations in which we felt unable to speak our truth. This is an opportunity to gain insights into any fears or insecurities we might have regarding our intelligence and ability to think for ourselves.

Saturday

Jupiter sextile Ceres: Empathy is heightened with this aspect. We may feel nostalgic for the past, or have a strong desire to connect with and care for loved ones.

Mercury enters Taurus: While Mercury is in the sign of the Bull, from May 2 to May 17, the mind tends to be practical and prefers to focus on one thing at a time. We rely more on common sense, and make decisions only after careful thought. The shadow side of Mercury in Taurus includes rigid thinking and a resistance to new ideas.

Sunday

No major aspects are exact today.
